We are delighted to announce that Michael Williams has signed a contract extension at the club!

The midfielder has put pen to paper which will see him extend his stay at Bolitho until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking on his extension, Williams said: “I’m pleased to have signed a new contract at the club.

“It’s been great getting to learn a new style of possession-based football this season & I’m really looking forward to seeing our growth as a team continue as we move forward.”

Originally signed under former manager Lee Hobbs, Williams has played a big role in Chris McPhee’s side this season.

“Mikey is another experienced player who has shown excellent levels of performance this year in a variety of positions, and he has been key to us being adaptable and efficient with the ball and changing the tempo of our attacks”, said McPhee.

“He reads the game well, defends cleverly, and shows great technical capabilities with the ball and we are delighted he too is staying at the Bolitho for another season.

“Mikey again helps the young lads and is very good at taking information onboard, executing the plan, and guiding others within the plan. It’s great to have him signed up.”

The board added: “Mikey has been an ever present in the team for a number of years and shows a great attitude to the younger players.”

“He has been asked to play in many positions during his time at the club and that shows the trust that the manager has in his ability to adapt to any task.

“Mikey extending his stay at the club gives us lots of options going forward.”
