Bentley Back At Bolitho
Aaron Bentley is a Yellow (Again)By Jack Hobbs
We are delighted to announce the return of defender Aaron Bentley from Helston Athletic!
Having come up through Plymouth Argyle’s academy, and having made three professional appearances in League Two, Bentley returns to Bolitho for his third spell in Yellow – having originally departed during the title winning season of 2021-22.
Speaking to Parkway media about his homecoming, the 29-year-old said: “It’s great to return to Bolitho.”
“I know the club inside out and I am excited to be back again and help my new teammates push up the league table. Can’t wait to get going again.”
A versatile defender by trade, but who also possesses the ability to play as a defensive midfielder, Aaron’s versatility will be a huge asset to Chris McPhee’s squad and his former teammates are already singing the defenders praises.
“It’s great to have Aaron back at the club”, said Mikey Williams.
“He was an important member of the team whilst we were gaining promotions up through the leagues when he was here previously.
“He has played at numerous levels above this one and his experience and versatility is a big coup signing wise for this time in a season.
“Let’s hope he has an impact on us climbing the table and I’m sure the fans are looking forward to seeing the best diag in world football back at Bolitho!”
Manager McPhee added: “We are delighted to have Aaron join the squad for the run in.”
“He is an experienced and capable defender who can add many qualities to our back line, and he certainly strengthens our squad.
“Aaron is someone who fits our culture both on and off the pitch. He is experienced and strong in the air and more than capable in possession.
“We welcome his arrival and look forward to working with him. Aaron will go straight into our match day squad for the trip to Bracknell this weekend.”
To make it a hattrick of praises, Vice-Chairman Gez Baggott added: “I’m personally very pleased we have managed to re-sign Aaron.”
“I feel it’s a great move for both him and the Club.
“Having already played at a good level, his strengths are in both boxes with his aerial dominance being an important factor. As a Club we have strengthened the squad in various positions and Aaron comes into an area which needed additional support.”
Everyone at the club would like to give Aaron a warm welcome home and we look forward to witnessing “the best diag in world football” at Bolitho very soon!
