We are delighted to announce that Rio Garside has signed a contract extension with the club!

Rio joined Parkway on a free transfer from Truro City in July 2022 following a loan spell at the club and will now extend his stay at Bolitho until to the end of the 2025/26 season.

On his new deal, Garside said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with the club.

“I feel it was a no brainer for me after a couple conversations with Mark and Macca and the direction the club wants to head in!

“Despite being in the position we are in the league, I’m really enjoying my football and the way the staff have got us playing. Hopefully we can have a successful second half of the season and take that into next season.”

Manager Chris McPhee said: “Rio had a slow start to the season but once he hit his stride, he has been pivotal in our style of play.”

“His willingness to get box to box, press, tackle, and challenge for every ball has taken his game to the next level.

“We know his technical strengths, receiving skills and passing and we have enjoyed working with Rio and seeing him grow. He is becoming a leader on the pitch through his work rate and commitment, and he has really bought into how we play.

“Rio deserves to have scored more goals this season but he has created lots of chances for others so I have no doubt the goals will come.

“I’m really pleased to have Rio signed up through to end of next season.”
