Willand Rovers A.F.C vs Plymouth Parkway
Devon St Lukes Bowl
Silver Street
Wednesday 13th November
7:30pm Kick-off
Parkway are following on from an impressive 5-0 win over Marlow FC in the league on the weekend, and they will certainly be looking to carry this performance over to their next game against Willand Rovers in the Devon St Lukes Bowl.
Plymouth absolutely dominated their match against bottom of the table Marlow, and 366 people witnessed The Yellows put on their best performance in a while. It was a great team effort; with captain Shane White opening the scoring with a lovely header early on and then James Watts-Barciela made it 2-0 by the 14th minute. Top scorer Dylan Jones netted himself two goals in the second half which were calmly taken, and Mitch Beardmore also managed to get himself on the scoresheet again. They sit 20th in the table, and are three points from safety, so they are slowly making their way up. Morale must be at an all-time high right now after a performance like that, so let’s see if they take that to the local cup.
Willand Rovers are currently in a solid 12th place in their league, they’ve played 14 matches and managed to grab 18 points altogether, so they comfortably sit in the middle of the table. Rovers have managed to get two wins in their last five, meaning they aren’t in wonderful form but are still definitely a threat. Their most recent game, however, was a 1-0 win over Tavistock, so both teams are coming off a win, despite Parkways being more convincing.
The hosts have conceded six goals in their last five, so their defence is relatively watertight all things considered, so Parkway need their goalscoring boots laced up on the night. Parkway will certainly be looking to get deep into this competition and grab some silverware, but it won’t be easy, as Silver Street is always a difficult place to go.
