The game got off to a cagey start with Harrow making a couple of early forays forward but unable to trouble the Parkway defence.

Parkway created the first chance on 9 minutes with Williams seeing his curling effort from around 20 yards well saved by Tyler Tobin. Parkway forced the game’s first corner on 10 minutes with Tobin doing well to save Shane White’s header. Parkway began to control the pace of the game dominating possession and moving the ball at pace creating a number of chances.

Another corner on 13 minutes saw Parkway recycle the loose ball with Oscar Halls firing just wide after good work by Tom Purrington. The hosts created their first opportunity on 15 minutes with Reece Cameron’s cross being easily gathered by Adam Parkes.

Parkway continued to look the more dangerous side and on 16 minutes neat link up play between White and Thomson saw the latter’s shot blocked and deflected behind. From the resultant corner Parkway took the lead on 17 minutes with Jack Crago at the far post taking a good first touch and lashing home an angled drive from around 10 yards.

Parkway continued to play with intensity at a high tempo forcing the hosts to defend deep and in numbers and they almost doubled their lead on 21 minutes.

More good approach play set up Crago whose close range effort was superbly blocked by Tobin and cleared for a corner. Thomson then nodded just wide after Crago won a header at the far post from the resultant corner. Parkway continued to press restricting Harrow to the occasional counter attack and after Parkway conceded possession in midfield on 24 minutes, Halls did well to tidy up a Harrow break along the right.

The dangerous Troy Walters then fired over from distance for the hosts on 26 minutes as they looked to work their way back into the game.

However it was Parkway who continued to control the pace of the game creating chances and on 32 minutes Thomson and Crago again linked well with Crago’s shot blocked and cleared. On 37 minutes the hosts defence was opened up after a jinking run forward from Williams set up Thomson who shot agonisingly just over from around 15 yards.

Harrow almost drew level on 34 minutes with Walters cross being cleared only as far as Lonit Talla whose looped effort from around 18 yards drifted narrowly wide of the top corner.

Play now became more even with Harrow enjoying a period of pressure forcing a corner in the 39th minute with Parkway defending well but Parkes rarely being called into action. Parkway continued to build patiently and a neat combination between Lane and Hall on 43 minutes saw Tobin do well to gather a cross through a crowd of bodies.

Parkway deservedly went into the break ahead having created a number of clear chances and only some good goalkeeping by Tobin and resolute defending kept the score at 1-0.

Stefan Powell replaced Reece Mitchell at half time for Harrow with Purrington making an early strong run forward for Parkway only to overhit his final ball.

Parkway started the half well with Rio Garside and Crago linking well along the left with Crago shooting just wide on 49 minutes. On 51 minutes Walters broke clear along the left with Parkes saving comfortably as Harrow began to force the pace of the game playing at a higher tempo than they had in the first half. On 54 minutes they spurned a good chance to draw level with Walters completely miskicking when well placed.

Parkway were forced into a substitution on 56 minutes with Cairo replacing Hall who had taken the full force of the ball in his face from close range and was assisted from the field looking decidedly groggy. The game now became more even with Harrow having a good spell and beginning to control the midfield area but it was Parkway who created the next chance on 59 minutes after good work between Williams and Thomson set up White who shot just wide.

Walters continued to look the most likely outlet for Harrow and on the hour he went clear along the left only to fire wildly over. Parkway made their 2nd change on the hour with Thomson being replaced by Wilson which saw a subsequent change in their shape. Harrow also made a change with Excellence Muhemba replacing Reece Cameron.

The game continued to be evenly contested with neither side able break each other down with Parkway now looking to go more direct enabling the Harrow defence to deal more comfortably with a series of long balls into the channels with Crago becoming isolated and lacking support up front.

Dylan Jones replaced the tireless Crago on 72 minutes as the game went through a scrappy phase with few chances being created and defences remaining in control.

Harrow made their final change on 76 minutes with Jaden Sharman replacing Walters who appeared to have taken a knock. With the game opening up in the final stages a Parkway free kick on the left was headed clear to Purrington whose shot was blocked and cleared.

On 81 minutes another mesmerising run by Williams into the 18 yard area set up Garside whose shot was blocked. On 83 minutes the hosts grabbed a lifeline and drew level after the strong running substitute Muhemba went clear along the right crossing low into the 6 yard area with Talla converting from close range. Parkway responded with Jones doing well to force a corner on the left which was cleared for a second corner which also came to nothing with the Harrow defence holding firm. The game turned on it’s head on 88 minutes with Harrow taking the lead with their second goal almost a carbon copy of their first. Muhemba again went clear along the right and crossing low into the danger area with this time Mack Miskin getting the vital touch.

Parkway almost equalised from the restart with Jones racing clear along the right and from a tight angle rolling the ball agonisingly across the 6 yard area with no one on hand to get a final touch.

With 6 minutes of added time Parkway pushed hard for an equaliser with White shooting just wide after a period of sustained pressure followed by Williams seeing his shot blocked after another penetrating run forward. In the 93rd minute Lane and Williams combined with the latter’s shot well saved by Tobin and with time running out Harrow managed to hold out to clinch the win.

After being the better and dominant side in the first half creating the clearer chances, Parkway only held a slender 1-0 lead mainly as a result of good goalkeeping and solid defending. The second half was a more even affair with the hosts more threatening and catching Parkway on the break twice in the final 10 minutes to grab an unlikely victory which leaves Parkway in the bottom 4.

Parkway now return to Bolitho Park on Tuesday to face Dorchester Town who beat Didcot Town 3-1 today. Parkway have already beaten Dorchester 2-0 in the FA Cup earlier this month but the visitors have made some significant signings since then and will almost certainly provide a tougher challenge this time round.
