Both Teams Eager for Crucial Wins
Parkway v Gosport Borough | Match PreviewBy Lewis Retallick
Parkway once again have another tough game on their home patch as they face Gosport Borough on Saturday. Plymouth are following on from a disappointing 2-1 loss against a strong Dorchester side, which initially saw the lads take the lead, but in the end, the three points went the visitor’s way.
It took 54 minutes for the first goal to arrive, and it was from Tom Dean who got on the end of a rebound making it 1-0. Just ten minutes later the visitors equalised through Olaf Konzsela’s deflected shot, and then another ten minutes later, they went on to take the lead from the penalty spot – a tough one to take.
The Yellows currently sit in 15th place with 32 points and their last five games haven’t been great. It’s three defeats, one draw, and one win and they have managed to concede ten goals over that period, which could certainly be better. They are still, however, managing to score quite frequently, and they haven’t failed to do so in their last three, so expect goals…
The opposition have been struggling since early January but recently have managed to start picking up some wins. Their most recent game was a 2-1 win over bottom of the league Marlow, and it was all but convincing as it took a 93rd minute winner to grab all three points – maybe now is a good time to play The Borough. Their last five matches have seen them get two wins, two defeats and a draw, so their form isn’t the greatest either.
The last four meetings between these two have resulted in one win each, and then two draws, so it is quite evenly matched in terms of that.
Let’s hope the lads can go out there and grab those crucial three points needed to keep them higher up the table.
