A Classic Smash and Grab Stag Weekend, Yellows?
AFC Totton vs Parkway | Match PreviewBy Lewis Retallick
Parkway are leaving behind Bolitho this weekend as they travel to The Snows Stadium to face Totton in what looks to be a difficult game. The Yellows are following on from a disappointing 2-0 loss to Hanwell mid-week.
Both goals for the visitors came from Daniel Carr with the first one being a huge deflection, and the second simply being a lovely finish. They were the better team, not much else to be said – focus on Totton.
Plymouth sit in 17th but it isn’t necessarily comfortable as all the teams around them – above and below – have played less games, so it could all change once they’ve caught up. The form is very shaky, as in their last five they have managed to get two wins, a draw, and two losses – not wonderful. Performance in front of goal is still decent, with the team accumulating eight goals in their last five, but at the other end, they have also conceded eight themselves.
Opponents Totton are currently in 2nd place and have obviously been able to rack up those points, but not as many as they’d prefer in recent games. In their last five they have only one win, three draws and a loss, which by their standards, isn’t great. Form in front of goal and the amount conceded is the same as The Yellows, so in terms of that it’s pretty evenly matched.
The last three games against this side have proven to be difficult as Totton picked up the wins in all those matches, with the most recent one being a close game ending 2-1 late last year.
Considering their form, now is probably the best time to be playing this side, and we have seen the lads take all three points from top teams in recent weeks, so let’s hope they can do it again.
