Can The Lads Keep Themselves Out of the Drop Zone?
Parkway v Hanwell Town | Match PreviewBy Lewis Retallick
Parkway are welcoming Hanwell Town to Bolitho Park for a mid-week battle which could push Plymouth even further away from the drop zone. They are following on from a 2-0 win against bottom of the league Marlow on the weekend.
For the most part it was a relatively comfortable game for The Yellows away from home, with two first half goals to seal the deal. The first one came in the 25th minute when Tylor Love-Holmes got on the end of a free-kick and headed it home, and then just as half time approached Sergii Ismail made it 2-0 as he managed to come out on top of some scrappy play in the box. Marlow started to threaten the lads’ net towards the end of the game, but they stayed strong and got all three points on the road – quality day out that.
Plymouth now sit in 16th place, but it’s definitely not the time to be getting comfy or complacent, as it’s all still quite tight down the bottom end of the table. The form is decent, but again, slightly inconsistent, but maybe the win against Marlow is the start of something…
They have two wins, two draws and a loss in their last five, and are still scoring goals for fun it seems like, with 8 scored in the same number of games. In three of those five, they managed to keep clean sheets, but in each of the other two, the lads conceded three goals, so the defending is a bit hit and miss at the minute.
Hanwell have two losses, two draws, and a win in their last five, and are seemingly improving as they are undefeated in their last three, so it could end up being a tough one. They aren’t too bad in front of goal either, having scored seven in those games, but have also conceded nine, so expect this match to be full of exciting attacking play and lots of goals.
The past meetings between these two haven’t exactly gone the way of Parkway, as in the last four, Hanwell grabbed wins in three of them, and a draw in the other.
The Yellows are playing some brilliant football as of late so I’m sure they’ll put their all into this fixture despite the extremely busy schedule they have.
