Parkway are taking on the task of playing Merthyr Town on Saturday as they hope to get something out of an extremely tough game against a strong side.
The Yellows managed to grab their first home league win of the season against Wimborne Town in midweek, where they dramatically came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1. The momentum for that game completely shifted in Parkways favour when in the 53rd minute, Wimborne’s Cameron Munn received two yellow cards and ended up leaving his team a man down, and Parkway made sure to capitalise on that by taking all three points. Parkway currently sit 20th in the table with nine points and are now only three points from safety, so these upcoming games are especially vital.
Merthyr have had an outstanding start to the season as they currently sit 2nd in the league with 28 points and only one draw and two losses. They haven’t lost in their last seven games, and they have even scored a ridiculous number of 15 goals in their last five games, with their most recent match being a 4-0 win against Frome Town. This is a tough matchup, and Plymouth will need to show some serious grit if they are to get something out of this game.
Last season, the Yellows in effect played two away games against the Martyrs. In Wales, Parkway picked up a point thanks to a Jack Crago goal and their ‘home’ game at Yate Town ended in defeat following a convincing performance from the Welsh outfit.
This one is going to be tough, but anything can happen at Bolitho!
