After the disappointment of Saturday’s 9-3 defeat to Hungerford Town, Parkway are back on the road this Tuesday evening to face Poole Town in Match Day Nine of the Southern Premier League South.
The heavy loss at Bulpit Lane has left the Yellows second from bottom, five points from safety after seven games. The relegation spots are currently held by Marlow, Frome Town, and Winchester City, with AFC Totton leading the league as it starts to take shape.
Poole Town, Tuesday’s opponents, sit in tenth place following a 1-1 draw with second-placed Walton & Hersham, which included a wonder goal by new Dolphin’s striker Rafael Ramos. They’ve had a steady start, with wins against Taunton, Marlow, and Wimborne, losses to AFC Totton and Swindon Supermarine, and draws against Bracknell Town and Walton & Hersham, amassing 11 points from eight games.
If ever there was a time for Parkway to show a reaction, it’s on Tuesday evening, though midweek games in Poole are always tough. Despite the result on Saturday, there are no new injury concerns, with late calls to be made on Rio Garside, Alex Cairo, and Carlo Garside regarding their travel.
Last season, Jack Crago netted a last-minute equaliser at BlackGold Stadium, and the reverse fixture at Bolitho saw Parkway secure all three points with a 71st-minute strike from Dylan Jones.
