Can Parkway find first league away win with maiden visit to the Swans
Walton & Hersham vs Parkway | Match PreviewBy Alex Haynes
Plymouth Parkway are finally back in action in the league for the first time in nearly three weeks this Saturday. They take on the Surrey club Walton & Hersham at Elmbridge Sports Hub in what promises to be an exciting and challenging encounter.
The lads will be especially keen to get back to league football after the stormy weather made sure our fixture against Didcot Town at Bolitho was postponed last weekend.
After three consecutive 1-1 draws and a 2-1 defeat to Salisbury, Parkway will be hoping to pick up three points this time around against a very good side who are currently fourth in the table.
The Swans are unbeaten in seven games in the league, last losing to none other than Sailsbury on the 9th of September. This is their debut season in the Southern League Premier Division after being promoted from Isthmian League South Central Division via the playoffs in the last campaign.
The Yellows are not where they want to be, but there is plenty of football left to be played. We sit in 19th place and occupy the first of the relegation spots. A win on Saturday might be enough to lift us out of trouble though as we are only three points behind Harrow Borough and have a better goal difference.
This will of course be easier said than done, but there have been several encouraging performances of late against teams who are flying high in the league. Parkway are hard to beat, and it’s surely only a matter of time before this talented squad begin winning games again.
