SB 1 – 4 Plymouth Parkway Colts Under 13
In a match full of quality, Parkway would come from a goal down to take all three points.
It would be SB who began on the front foot as they imposed a physical intensity across the pitch, but they lacked a cutting edge thanks to a hard-working Parkway backline and a keeper who commanded his box beyond his relatively young years.
SB would continue in the same vein and their dominance would be rewarded with a fine 25-yard strike to put the home side ahead. Parkway’s response was impressive as they got to grips with the game after the early onslaught. It didn’t take long before parity was restored and Rome, like he has done many times before would pick the perfect pass, this time for debutant Liam to score on debut.
With Parkway now in the ascendency, they would snatch a second minute’s later as Sam made a foray from right back to be on hand and finish well to put the away side ahead at the break.
Parkway would not sit on their 1-goal advantage and arguably played their best football of the game in the early stages of the second half. A host of chances would be created but would lack that killer finish. Credit must go to SB who worked hard to survive the onslaught and began to craft their own in chances as the match hung in the balance.
The next goal would be key, and it would duly arrive midway through the second half as the debutant Liam would find his second of the game in a debut he will never forget. The game would continue to be played at a high intensity and quality, but it would be Parkway who would emerge as the more clinical side as Connor would seal the win late on with a peach of a finish.
Managers Joe Pulley and Tom Carter described the win as a big moment of the season after recent performances against more physical teams had been slightly disappointing. This win will give Parkway the perfect platform as they prepare for a huge cup semi-final fixture against Plympton.
Plymouth Colts Under 11 4 – 2 Kelliwick
The sun would shine on Parkway Colts who have enjoyed a superb season and it would continue with a fine 4-2 victory over Kelliwick.
A high tempo start by Parkway would give them the perfect start after a swift counterattack would see Evan find the bottom corner. The score line would stay at one until early in the second half as Parkway doubled their advantage. A superb cross from Rylee would be met by the foot of the onrushing Evan and his volley would find the top corner as the player wheeled away in celebration with his teammates.
The goal would spur Parkway on who began to attack at every opportunity. Rylee would turn goal scorer from a free kick as the home side extended their lead to three. The game would be put to bed shortly after thanks in large to a superb driving run form Oscar who would play in Maison to confidentially finish from inside the area.
With the game wrapped up Parkway would relax and Kelliwick would enjoy their best spell of the game and give Parkway a late scare. After a superbly converted Penalty, the away side would add a second, but it would be too little too late as Parkway survived the final few minutes to secure all three points.
Ottery St. Mary U18 0 - 4 Plymouth Parkway U18
This game had been postponed twice prior, so to get the pitch playable is a testament to the home side. Thank you to them.
Parkway started strong but couldn’t sustain it in the first half, playing slightly uphill and on a very boggy pitch. However, Parkway took the lead on 20 mins with a well-worked corner, delivered by Colby Collier and put away by Jacob Smith. With very little in the way of goalmouth action the first half ended 0-1 in favour of the visitors.
The second half was much more entertaining as the U18s of old arrived. They upped the intensity and created a lot more chances. Darren Gopaul scored inside the first couple of mins of the half as Parkway began to take a stronghold in the game.
With chances galore being created it was only a matter of time before the visitors scored again, this time a wicked cross from Callum Bleasdale found the head of Joe Cook who nodded it past a static keeper to make it 0-3. A few counterattacks from the home side kept the visiting defence on their toes but it was the game well and truly over when Dylan Jones tucked the ball past an outrushing keeper to finish the tie and send the visitors through to their third semi-final in as many years.

Elsewhere, Parkway Under 11’s would pick up another hard-fought win in tough conditions as they beat Southgate 3-1.
Despite going a goal down, Parkway always looked the more dangerous and goals from Henry, Jake and Teddy secured a fine win against an opponent they struggled against earlier in the season.
Parkway Under 13’s had to keep the champagne on ice after they were held to a 1-1 draw as their quest to be crowned league champions continues. Finally, Parkway Under 9’s would fall to a 1-0 defeat and will look to get back to winning ways next weekend.
